Do you offer virtual (online) speech therapy sessions for adults?

Yes. We’re thrilled to offer virtual speech therapy. This allows us to accommodate adults who need speech therapy but have limited transportation or mobility. Working online with adults for virtual speech therapy can be especially beneficial, as adults often feel comfortable participating in speech therapy in the comfort of their own homes. Contact us to learn more about our virtual speech-language therapy sessions.

Do you offer in-person speech therapy sessions for adults?

Yes. Our office features a dedicated, private space for adult speech therapy sessions. See the photo of our adult speech therapy office space below:

Does insurance cover both virtual and in-person speech-language therapy sessions for adults?

Many insurances do cover all or part of virtual speech therapy sessions for adults, as well as in-person therapy. Our office staff works with insurance companies to ensure clients make the most of their insurance coverage. Click here to see which insurances we are currently able to accept.

Are caregivers of adults welcome to sit in on speech-language therapy sessions?

Caregivers, nurses, or guardians are absolutely welcome to sit in on sessions with our adult speech-therapy clients.

Is your building wheelchair accessible?

Yes. There are handicap parking spots by the front door of our building, and there is an elevator in the lobby to take clients to our second-floor practice. Learn more about how to find our office.

Will speech therapy improve speech, articulation, language, intelligibility, and life skills in adults who are recovering from illness, injury, or disease?

Our therapists are always honest and respectful of our clients, and we always tell the truth. In some circumstances, we are able to help our adult speech clients return to their pre-injury or pre-illness form. But in other circumstances, we instead focus on helping the client learn new skills and abilities to improve their quality of life.

How long do adults typically need speech therapy if they are recovering from stroke, injury, or illness?

Some adults may find they are able to make progress very quickly. However, healing can take time, especially when cognitive functions are involved. The duration of adult speech therapy depends on the severity of the condition as well as the clients’ investment (of time and focus) in the process.

Do you have daytime or evening hours for working adults?

We do both offer daytime and evening speech-language sessions for adults, both in our office and virtually via the internet. Please reach out to us so we can find a time that works with your schedule.

“I want my adult clients to feel comfortable coming into this practice. Difficulties with speech or voice can pop up for many reasons at any time during life. Anger, sadness, frustration, longing, regret…all these feelings are normal and part of the process. I can’t promise miracles, but I can promise hope—that working hard and working smart can make a positive difference.”

–Marie Malyarovich, MA, CCC-SLP
